Youtube Subscriptions: Jenna Marbles

In a nutshell Jenna Marbles is a weekly video blogger on Youtube. What makes her different from everyone else is that her video’s are not only hilarious, but also sometimes informational. She has videos of her ranting on about how much she hates her neighbor to actual music videos. Jenna Marbles has no filter and will rip on anything and put a comedic twist to it.

Jenna Marbles is actually not her real name. Jenna Mourey is her real name. She was born in September of 1986 in Rochester, New York.  Eventually she moved to Boston to attend Suffolk University and graduate with a B.S. in Psychology. Later she graduated from Boston College with a masters in Sport psychology. Now she currently makes a living off of Youtube and is currently living in Santa Monica, CA.

Jenna Marbles first got started with Youtube with one video that started her carrier on the site. Her video is entitled “How to Trick People Into Thinking You’re Good Looking.” and today has over 39 million views!

Since that first video she has made over a hundred videos with all of them over a million views each. I love Jenna Marbles and her video’s. They are funny as they are true and as a guy she really opens your eyes. I hope that she keeps making these videos every Wednesday and can’t wait till the next one.

Here is my favorite video she made:

Youtube Subscriptions: Freddiew

If you like a lot of action while having a little humor mixed in then you should check out Freddiew’s hilarious channel. Freddie Wong is a director/ actor/ and hardcore gamer. When Freddie first started his soon-to-be career on Youtube he was designing, acting, directing, pretty much everything for his own videos. Because he is such a hit on Youtube he has earned enough money to create his own studio called Overcrank Media. Since 2008 Freddie Wong has created over 500 videos and currently has 2.9 million subscribers. Here is one of my favorite videos.

I have been a Youtube subscriber for Freddiew and find his videos hilarious as they are entertaining. As a gamer myself I can relate to his creations that make fun of games. It is impressive that Freddiew has so much publicity that he has created his own studio and is making a living of Youtube.

Youtube Supscriptions: Epic Meal Time

79,046 calories and 6,892 grams of fat. Sounds like my monthly diet. But this isn’t true for all people. On Epic Meal Time they are known for creating a single meal with that many calories and then eating it. Epic Meal Time is a type of Youtube cooking show that makes these high fat meaty creations. It started in October of 2010 and since had a new video posted every Tuesday. Now that is a lot of food. I can only hope that they don’t eat anything between these meals.

Epic Meal Time was created by a bunch of Canadians that loved food. They began in Montreal, Quebec, but have been recently posting videos from California and including celebrities in their videos like Tony Hawk and Smosh. Their first video consisted of a Wendy’s burger with six beef patties and eightneen bacon strips. Soon after posting the video on Youtube they became stars overnight. Since then they have created all kinds of anomalies from the fattiest breakfast meal to my favorite, the  bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a pig (their Thanks giving special).

I love to watch Epic Meal Time create these meals that I couldn’t possibly imagine. I hope they continue to post new videos every Tuesday and they go see a doctor to check for diabetes.

Youtube Subscriptions: Tobuscus

If you like to spend hours on Youtube watching hilarious videos and wasting time then you will love Tobuscus. It is created by actor/comedian Toby Tuner who has three channels: Tobuscus, TobyTurner, and Tobygames. Tobuscus is his most popular channel with over 1.6 million subscribers, making him the 26th most subscribed person on Youtube. He is well known for his literal trailers, Cute Win Fail, and LazyVlogs.

He was born on March 3, 1985 in Mississippi and now lives in Los Angeles, CA. He Joined Youtube on 2006. Since then Toby has made himself one of the most well known people on the site and is starting to become known outside of Youtube. His literal trailers are extremely popular and are even used as television commercials for movies and video games.

Tobuscus has weekly video’s where he creates videos like Cute Win Fail. Cute Win Fail is a video series that he reviews three videos then asks the “audience” (People subscribed to him) which is their favorite of the three. Then he tallies up all the votes and on next weeks show he announces the winner.

I have been subscribed to Toby for over a year now and love his commentary and originality. His videos are as hilarious as they are weird. For the few of comedic people on Youtube he is the most viewed and subscribed. Toby is on his way of becoming the number one subscriber on Youtube.

First Look at Blogging

Just finished tweaking up my home page with a new picture and theme.

I got the picture from www.wallbase.cc

Definitions:

Dashboard – where the “behind the scenes” takes place. From here I can blog, manage, create, and customize anything on the page.

Widgets – are different links, tools, or other applications that can assist people in the blog with anything from searching to liking the blog on Facebook. Widgets are similar to apps on an iPhone since there are many of them for various different purposes. For example there is a calendar widgets that allows the visitor to view past blogs.

Pages – the website can be organized in a way that you can add pages to it. This makes it more organized and easier to maneuver through the site.

Comments – People can comment at will to any blogs or pages on the site. I can manage these at will.

Media – there is an entire media library that saves all of the photos that are used on the site. This makes it easy to manage what pictures were used on the site.

Themes and customization- the site is completely changeable. I can choose a preset theme from the list and choose or upload pictures that I want to use on the site. I can also change fonts, colors, widgets, pages, menus, and even the names of the widgets. The website is completely custom.

Bellow I will attempt to add a photo. Here one of my favorite pictures:

I am surprised by how customization there is to this website. After spending an hour with the dashboard I have created a site that I feel is truly individual. When I came into the class I knew what blogging was, but I never thought it could be this amusing. I can post pictures, videos, and links to my discretion. I can’t wait to use this for the rest of the semester.
